⭐ Trail of the Day

Get to know Okemo! Every day, we highlight one of Okemo's 127 trails. Today's trail is

🟢 Sun Dog

South Face, facing south, gets more sun than the rest of the mountain. To emphasize the point, there's the Sunshine Quad and the Suncatcher trail. Strangely, Sun Dog travels west, away from South Face. You can take a sharp right at the end onto Rimrock to head back down to South Face, but Moon Dog is a much more direct route. Shouldn't these two names be swapped?

Sun Dog is typically used to exit South Face onto Upper Mountain Road or traverse up over the Glades Peak Quad and down Buckhorn to the Main Face summit.

Anyway, Sun Dog is a gentle trail which gives you a lot of options for where to go next, whether you're following the sun or not.
